Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Media Director for a freelance engagement to support pharmaceutical clients. This role is ideal for a senior media professional with strong strategy, planning, and client leadership skills, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and open to a hybrid on-site/remote schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development of media strategies and integrated media plans for pharma client aligning with client business objectives and KPIs.
- Oversee end-to-end media planning across appropriate channels (e.g., digital, social, video, display, search, and traditional as applicable), ensuring plans are data-informed and results-driven.
- Serve as a primary day-to-day strategic partner to client stakeholders, presenting plans, performance updates, and recommendations in a clear and persuasive manner.
- Translate client briefs, research, and performance data into actionable insights and optimization strategies.
- Direct and mentor media planners and junior staff, supervising workload, quality of deliverables, and professional development.
- Partner closely with internal teams (account management, creative, analytics, and finance) to ensure media strategies are integrated and flawlessly executed.
- Monitor campaign performance, collaborate on reporting and analytics, and drive ongoing optimization to improve results against KPIs.
- Stay current on media trends, platforms, tools, and competitive activity relevant to the life sciences and healthcare categories, advising clients on opportunities and best practices.
- Help manage scopes, timelines, and budgets, ensuring work is delivered on schedule and within agreed financial parameters.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in media planning and buying, with recent experience at a media agency or integrated advertising agency.
- Prior responsibility for leading or co-leading large or complex accounts, including client-facing strategy and presentations.
- Strong understanding of digital media channels, platforms, and measurement, with the ability to interpret data and recommend optimizations.
- Experience in or familiarity with life sciences, pharmaceutical, or healthcare brands is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and develop junior team members.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, collaborating both in person and remotely.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
