Roles & Responsibilities
- Obtain all necessary information to complete job assignments and report discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
- Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams for point-to-point assembly tasks.
- Perform wiring using harness boards, tie-in cables, and harnesses based on diagrams.
- Conduct electrical/electronic and mechanical assembly tasks individually or as part of an assembly team.
- Layout and construct harness boards to assemble wiring and cables for various electrical/electronic assemblies and subassemblies.
- Mix and apply bonding components and perform encapsulation processes.
- Use a variety of hand tools and assembly equipment to complete tasks.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
Basic Qualifications – Level 2 Harness Technician
- High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of additional education or relevant experience in assembly, electronics, manufacturing, production, or logistics.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical assembly and wiring.
- Ability to complete IPC WHMA-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assembly) and NASA-J-STD certification.
- Experience reading technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Basic Qualifications – Level 3 Harness Technician
- High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of additional education or relevant experience in assembly, electronics, manufacturing, production, or logistics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical assembly and wiring.
- Ability to complete IPC WHMA-A-620 and NASA-J-STD certifications.
- Strong ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Exceptional mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Experience with ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) procedures and crimping techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate from a Technical Trade School.
- Current certification in IPC WHMA-A-620, NASA-J-STD, or other electronics assembly certifications.
- Experience with MES applications including workflow, signoff, and documentation.
Note
The position may be filled at Level 2 or Level 3 depending on the candidate’s experience and technical proficiency.
