Administrative Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
The Rappahannock Rapidan Health District is seeking a dependable and highly organized Administrative Assistant to support administrative operations related to family planning clinics, vital records, and the environmental health office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Independently carries out a wide range of program support responsibilities, including interpreting administrative policies and procedures and effectively conveying this information to the public. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, interviewing clients to obtain required program information, maintaining records, providing education on program guidelines and established protocols, performing data entry, managing records, responding to citizen inquiries based on established guidelines, accepting applications, conducting eligibility determinations, compiling data, and performing research activities. The role also involves fiscal responsibilities such as collecting and entering payments, reconciling cash and receipts, and preparing deposits.
Minimum Qualifications
- Willingness to travel throughout the Rappahannock Health District (Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock counties) using personal transportation as needed to cover other offices.
- Knowledge of general office practices and administrative procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
- Capability to learn new procedures and adapt to changing requirements.
- Ability to interpret rules, regulations, and policies accurately.
- Skilled in educating and informing individuals about available services.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a high-traffic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with diverse populations and providing excellent customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to operate and maintain Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
