POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Radiology Administrative Director of Technical Operations and Clinical Supervisor of Breast Imaging, the Multimodality Tech provides skill and initiative to the department mission through interactions with staff, supervisor, clinicians and others as necessary. Primary duties are to work as a multi modality technologist in the Breast Imaging section performing Mammography and Breast Ultrasound procedures and exams. Exams and procedures will include diagnostic and screening examinations; ultrasound and mammographic guided breast interventions and bone densitometry. Position: Multimodal Technologist Department: Radiology - Diagnostic Schedule: Part Time JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION Associates Degree (or equivalent) in Radiologic Technology from an AMA approved school. LICENSE, CERTIFICATES, AND REGISTRATION: Massachusetts State licenses in Radiography and Mammography are required. Currently certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in (R) and (M). Certification in Breast Ultrasound either through the ARDMS or ARRT. Credentials are ARRT (BS) or RDMS (BR) and required within one year of hire. Must remain up-to-date on all applicable continuing education credits required for certifications held. Current BLS certification. EXPERIENCE At least 1 year of experience as a registered mammographer and at least 6 months of breast sonography required. Incumbent will be allowed 1 year post hire date to sit for and pass the examination for breast Sonography certification. This can be done through the ARDMS or ARRT. Knowledge of principles and procedures in both mammography and ultrasound and the operation and maintenance of Radiologic/Mammography and Ultrasound equipment. Knowledge of bone density equipment and ability to analyze studies. Extensive knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and co-workers, to train students and staff mammographers. Excellent organizational skills.
