Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system calibrations, and preventative inspections to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot electrical components using tools like ohmmeters and identify mechanical faults requiring repair or replacement.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including pipe repairs and refrigerant line servicing.
- Repair appliances and mechanical equipment associated with HVAC/R systems while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, and parts used; communicate effectively with clients about system status and recommended upgrades or repairs.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
- Construction knowledge relevant to installing complex HVAC infrastructure in new or existing buildings.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design documents accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge spanning refrigeration systems, ammonia refrigeration (HVAC/R), boilers, and general property maintenance.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting; welding skills are a plus for equipment repair or fabrication tasks.
- Experience with field service operations involving appliance repair, equipment maintenance, and component replacement.
- Familiarity with plumbing work related to HVAC systems; understanding of refrigerant handling procedures is essential.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
