Fire Equipment Testing Technician / Laborer

Overview
1st American Fire Services is a Florida-owned company specializing in NFPA testing of fire department equipment, including fire hose, hard suction, pumps, aerial devices, ladders, and nozzles.
We are currently seeking dependable team members to assist with testing and handling fire apparatus equipment at fire departments throughout Florida.
Hiring immediately — no prior experience required. Training is provided.
This position involves working outdoors, traveling throughout Florida, and performing physical work with a team. This is also a great opportunity for individuals interested in getting started working around the fire service and fire apparatus equipment.
Pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with unrolling, rolling, and loading fire hose
- Assist with testing hose, ladders, hard suction, and other fire apparatus equipment
- Load, unload, and stack equipment and materials
- Assist with spotting trucks or trailers
- Help set up the job site trailer and tear down equipment at the end of each project
- Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized manner
- Work effectively with team members to complete daily job objectives
- Follow company safety procedures and use equipment and materials properly
- Perform other duties as assigned
Travel Requirements
- Extensive travel throughout the state of Florida
- Occasional weekend or holiday work may be required
- Hotel accommodations and food are provided during travel assignments
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
- Strong work ethic and dependability
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions and safety procedures
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Physical Requirements
This position requires physical work in an outdoor environment.
Employees must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Bend, kneel, crouch, climb, twist, and reach regularly
- Work in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, and rain
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
- Outdoor job sites at fire departments across Florida
- Exposure to heat, humidity, and occasional cold conditions
