Job Title: Commercial Loan Officer
Department: Lending
Reports To: Chief Lending Officer
FLSA Status: Exempt
JOB SUMMARY: Extends and services all types of secured and unsecured loans but specializes in commercial lending. Assist other lenders in loans with more complex structures. Analyze borrower’s financial status and loan repayment methods and collateral specifications. Provide all required information to register as an MLO (required by the SAFE Act) and maintain valid registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. Must actively contact past due and delinquent customers to obtain past due or delinquent payments. Refer to Loan Policy and Procedures for further details.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Provide Service customers and prospective customers seeking various types of commercial loans. Conduct in-depth interviews with customers; analyze financial history, collateral and other pertinent data as a basis to make a loan decision.
· Develop new business by contacting prospects and working with current customers.
· Schedule required collateral inspections.
· Handle difficult or complex transactions, computations and servicing of credits of an extraordinary or difficult nature.
· Assist in the processing/work-out of criticized commercial credits.
· Initiate contacts for the purpose of business development. Maintain and retain customer base.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
· BA/BS plus 5 years’ experience or
· Equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of lending regulations
· Knowledge of financial statement analysis
· Knowledge of collection techniques
· Strong proficiency in PC skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with a wide range of people
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Good analytical skills
· Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to take initiative in development and completion of projects
· Strong sense of customer service
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:
- Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling: frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing and visual acuity.
- Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds of paper supplies and minor office equipment.
