We are looking for a dynamic Accountant to join our Property Accounting team and maintain the integrity of the general ledger, work with other departments to understand their business units and impact on the financial statements, and collaborate with other teams within the Accounting Department to ensure timely delivery of financial reports. The ideal candidate is detail oriented with demonstrated ability to prioritize work to meet various deadlines, enjoys working in a high volume, fast-paced environment that emphasizes innovation and process improvements, and wants to learn multiple aspects of the single-family residential business. What You’ll Do Prepares journal entries (up to 100,000 lines at a time), completes bank reconciliations (up to 10 individual accounts, each covering 1000s of homes), and maintains balance sheet account reconciliations. Reviews the balance sheets and income statements to ensure accuracy. Ensures month-end close deadlines are met. Partners with HOA, Leasing, Operations, and other business units to gain an understanding of their impact on the business and assist where needed. Interacts with field teams and external partners to review financials results and provide needed financial review and analysis support. Prepares both recurring and ad hoc analyses of financial results, trends, performance metrics, benchmarks to understand operating results and respond to requests from business leaders. Assists with external and internal audit requests (SOX compliance, internal controls, etc.). Participates in Company-provided training and identifies training to increase knowledge of single-family residential business. Who We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required. 1 years of experience in accounting and financial statement preparation is preferred. Intermediate-level knowledge of Excel functionality is required. Yardi experience a plus. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Analytical thinker with attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset. Highly self-motivated and directed. Ability to follow and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to read and comprehend financial statements. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to set and meet goals and consistently meet deadlines. Must maintain professional appearance. Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; Overtime may be required for this position. Salary Range The salary range for this position is: $57,862.50 - $100,295.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
