We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure our advanced material handling systems operate at peak performance.
Role Overview
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be the frontline expert responsible for the uptime, health, and reliability of our complex automated systems. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on Dematic conveyor systems, sorters, AS/RS units, and associated controls.
Key Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance: Execute detailed maintenance schedules on Dematic automated equipment to ensure long-term reliability and minimize unscheduled downtime.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues. Use technical manuals, diagnostic software, and schematics to get systems back online quickly.
System Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify trends in mechanical or software-related bottlenecks, and propose improvements to increase throughput and efficiency.
Controls & PLC Support: Assist in troubleshooting PLC-based control systems, including sensors, motors, VFDs, and communication networks.
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), Arc Flash, and all OSHA safety standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, parts usage, and maintenance activities within our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Collaboration: Work closely with operations teams and external Dematic support partners to coordinate repairs and system upgrades.
Qualifications
Experience: 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, specifically with automated material handling systems (Dematic experience is highly preferred).
Technical Proficiency:
Strong background in electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V).
Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical blueprints/schematics.
Familiarity with VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and encoders.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley/Siemens experience is a plus).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related field is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a high-energy team.
Effective communication skills to report issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, or holidays as required by the business.
Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
