19six is looking for an experienced DSA Closeout Specialist, working in-person out of either our San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara or Roseville offices.
Position Overview
The DSA Administrator is responsible for managing the administrative aspects of Division of the State Architect (DSA) paperwork and communication during the close-out phase of K-12 and community college public school projects. This role will coordinate with other 19six offices and personnel to ensure full compliance with DSA regulations and to secure project completion with a DSA #1 Certification and Close of File.

Position Overview
The DSA Administrator is responsible for managing the administrative aspects of Division of the State Architect (DSA) paperwork and communication during the close-out phase of K-12 and community college public school projects. This role will coordinate with other 19six offices and personnel to ensure full compliance with DSA regulations and to secure project completion with a DSA #1 Certification and Close of File.
Primary Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between contractors, architects, school district representatives, and the DSA during the project close-out phase.
- Prepare, process, and track close-out documentation, including forms 6-AE, 6-C, and 168, ensuring compliance with DSA requirements.
- Manage DSA-related submissions with Field Docs Offices and upload documentation to DSA Box.
- Interpret and process 301-N and 301-P letters, as well as form 302, including re-examination requests when necessary.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all DSA close-out forms and regulations, including forms 1, 1-REG, 102-IC, 5-PI, and 6-PI.
- Participate in project meetings to address DSA close-out requirements.
- Support multiple team’s firm wide, including providing the Marketing Team with closeout update upon certification.
- High school diploma required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in DSA administration with a focus on close-out for K-12 and/or Community College architectural/construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of DSA procedures, forms, and documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in project management and document control software, including Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Microsoft 365 (especially Teams).
- Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
