Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing according to recipe specifications and safety standards.
- Assist in cooking and food preparation tasks, including assembling components for various menu items.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene throughout all stages of meal prep.
- Support kitchen staff with meal assembly, plating, and portioning to maintain efficiency during busy service times.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, including sanitizing surfaces and properly storing ingredients.
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and reporting shortages or issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety standards in production, ensuring a safe environment for all team members.
- Assist in washing dishes when necessary
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant kitchens, or the food industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Skills in menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling are highly desirable.
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient prep.
- Understanding of food safety management and safety standards in production environments.
- Experience with catering or serving is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
