We're looking for our first Head of Platform to help build that experience from the ground up.

About The Role

As Head of Platform, you'll build and lead the founder experience at 16VC.

You'll develop our brand, grow our network, organize events, build strategic partnerships, and create opportunities that help founders succeed. You'll work closely with the investment team to strengthen our ecosystem, support portfolio companies, and position 16VC as one of the leading AI-focused venture firms.

This is a high-impact role with significant ownership and the opportunity to shape how 16VC grows.

What you'll do

• Build and lead the 16VC platform strategy
• Grow relationships with founders, operators, investors, and ecosystem partners
• Organize founder dinners, community events, workshops, and networking programs
• Develop partnerships with universities, accelerators, AI communities, and technology companies
• Support portfolio companies with hiring, customer introductions, fundraising, and strategic connections
• Help source investment opportunities through community and relationship building
• Oversee content, newsletters, social media, podcasts, and brand initiatives
• Build and manage mentor, advisor, and operator networks
• Improve the overall founder experience across every stage of the investment lifecycle
  
  

What we're looking for

You Might Be a Great Fit If You

• Have 5 years of experience in venture capital, startups, partnerships, community, business development, or platform roles
• Have a strong network within the startup and technology ecosystem
• Are an exceptional relationship builder
• Enjoy creating communities and bringing people together
• Can manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment
• Communicate clearly with founders, executives, and investors
• Take ownership and execute with minimal direction
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Venture capital or startup experience
• Community building and event management
• Strategic partnerships and business development
• Content marketing and brand strategy
• CRM platforms such as Affinity, HubSpot, or Salesforce
• Project management tools such as Notion, Asana, or ClickUp

• Experience working with early-stage founders
• Existing network across the San Francisco startup ecosystem
• Experience scaling startup communities or founder programs

Details

• Compensation: $180,000 to $250,000 USD base salary, plus bonus and benefits. Final compensation will depend on experience and skills.
• Location: This is a full-time on-site role based in San Francisco, California. Candidates must be based in, or willing to relocate to, the San Francisco Bay Area.
