Duties

• Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions with efficiency and attention to detail.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales.
• Manage cash drawer handling responsibly, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
• Stock shelves and merchandise displays to maintain an organized and inviting store environment.
• Assist in inventory management by stocking new products and participating in regular stock checks.
• Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or taking orders remotely.
• Support the team with supervising experience by mentoring new staff or assisting in training initiatives when needed.
• Engage customers with bilingual communication skills to serve diverse communities effectively.
• Promote store promotions and assist with product demos to enhance the shopping experience.

Skills

• Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations for seamless transactions.
• Previous retail sales experience, including retail math skills for accurate pricing, discounts, and change calculations.
• Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities and a friendly demeanor.
• Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and inventory management.
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, sales calculations, and balancing registers.
• Experience in grocery store environments or similar retail settings is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated upselling skills to increase sales while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Phone etiquette expertise for professional communication with customers over the phone or online channels.
• Supervising experience is a plus, showing leadership potential within the team structure.
• Bilingual capabilities to serve a broader customer base effectively.
