Position Overview
123NET is seeking a Design Vendor Coordinator to support our telecommunications design efforts by coordinating projects with external engineering partners and reviewing design plans for quality, accuracy, and compliance. This role serves as a key liaison between internal teams and partner design vendors, ensuring projects move forward efficiently, meet established standards and timelines, and align with network deployment goals.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple teams while managing deadlines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage design projects assigned to external engineering and design partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communication related to design scope, schedules, and deliverables.
- Review design plans for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company standards, specifications, and local requirements.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to vendors and track revisions through completion.
- Ensure design packages meet internal quality, constructability, and compliance requirements prior to approval.
- Track project milestones, turnaround times, and vendor performance metrics.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Engineering, Construction, Permitting, and Project Management to resolve design issues and support project execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation, design records, and project status updates within internal systems.
- Identify recurring design issues and recommend process improvements or training opportunities for vendors.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3 years of experience in telecommunications design, engineering coordination, or project/vendor management.
- Working knowledge of telecom network design concepts (fiber, OSP, ISP, aerial, underground, etc.).
- Experience reviewing engineering or construction design plans.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and vendors simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with design review tools, document management systems, and standard office software.
- Ability to interpret design standards, specifications, and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with third-party engineering or design firms.
- Familiarity with permitting, make-ready, or construction workflows.
- Experience with GIS, CAD, and other telecom design platforms.
- Understanding of telecom build methodologies and quality control processes.

· Hybrid (80% , see below)
o In office (Southfield, MI) for Onboarding and Training (first 1 – 3 weeks)
o After Training: 4 days in office (Southfield, MI) per quarter minimum
