What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Designer position at 11x?
About The Role
We're looking for a product designer who wants to operate like a founder.
Not someone who waits for tickets or perfect requirements. Someone who sees opportunities, prototypes fast, shapes product direction, and ships experiences that move the company forward.
This is not a "make the UI pretty" role. You'll work across product thinking, interaction design, systems, prototyping, and execution. In many cases, you'll go from idea → prototype → shipped product in days, not quarters.
The best people for this role think strategically, build relentlessly, and use AI as leverage.
Why This Role Is Different
The role of design is changing.
AI has collapsed the distance between idea and execution. The best designers today don't just create mockups, they can explore product directions, prototype interactions, generate working interfaces, and pressure-test ideas themselves.

We Believe The Future Belongs To Designers Who
- Think like product leaders
- Prototype like engineers
- Use AI tools fluently
- Care about outcomes, not deliverables
- Move from ambiguity to shipped product with very little overhead
What You'll Work On
- Own product areas end-to-end, from initial insight to shipped experience
- Lead greenfield explorations and turn blank-canvas ideas into real products
- Prototype aggressively, in code, AI tools, Figma, or whatever gets the idea across fastest
- Work directly with engineers and PMs to shape product direction, not just execution
- Think deeply about systems, workflows, and how features compound across the platform
- Use AI tools as part of your daily workflow to increase speed, creativity, and iteration velocity
- Raise the quality bar across the company through strong product judgment and craft
- Push ideas into reality quickly instead of over-optimizing in planning phases
- We optimize for speed of learning and iteration
- We prototype early instead of debating endlessly
- We use AI heavily across design, product thinking, research, and engineering
- We believe small, high-agency teams can outperform much larger organizations
- We believe the best builders in the AI era are token maxxers, people who use AI relentlessly to compress execution cycles, test ideas faster, and expand the scope of what a single person can accomplish
- We care more about shipping and learning than rigid role boundaries
- 3–6 years of product design experience, ideally at startups or highly product-driven teams
- A strong track record of owning products or features from concept through launch
- High agency. You naturally move things forward without waiting for direction
- Strong product instincts and clear opinions about what should exist and why
- Excellent visual and interaction design skills, grounded in systems thinking
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and figuring things out in real time
- Bias toward building and prototyping over endless ideation
- Strong communication with engineers, PMs, and leadership
- Excitement about AI-native workflows and the future of product creation
- You can prototype in code
- You've used tools like Cursor, v0, Lovable, Replit, Claude, or similar in your workflow
- You've worked on AI-native products or developer-facing tools
- You've been an early designer at a startup
- You care deeply about product velocity and iteration speed
You help us:
- Move faster without sacrificing quality
- Turn ambiguous ideas into shipped products
- Create experiences that feel thoughtful, fast, and inevitable
- Build a culture where design is deeply tied to product thinking and execution
