Department Montbello Dental Clinic Dental Hygienist – Evergreen Opportunity (Multiple Locations) Denver Health Community Dental Clinics Job Summary Denver Health is seeking passionate and dedicated Dental Hygienists to join our team at multiple community health center locations throughout Denver. Our hygienists work under indirect supervision, delivering comprehensive oral care to a diverse patient population. The position includes preventative services, periodontal therapy, patient education, and, with proper certification, expanded duties such as local anesthesia and silver diamine fluoride application. This posting is for an evergreen requisition, meaning we are continuously seeking qualified candidates for positions across several clinics. Clinic Locations & Hours Each site is staffed with general dentists and a dedicated care team. More complex dental needs are referred to specialty providers within the Denver Health system. Peña Southwest Family Health Center Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Lowry Family Health Center Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Montbello Family Health Center Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Outpatient Medical Center – Pavilion L (Adults) Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Webb Center for Primary Care – Pavilion G (Pediatrics Only) Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Westside Family Health Center Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Essential Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, oral health screenings, and diagnosis of oral conditions. Deliver preventative dental services including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, fluoride application, and sealants. Provide non-surgical periodontal therapy, including scaling and root planing. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, systemic health, and disease prevention using trauma-informed and motivational interviewing approaches. Capture digital radiographs using ALARA principles and take intraoral images as needed. Complete documentation within 72 hours; assist with sterile processing and administrative duties. May float to other clinics, school-based programs, or Medical-Dental Integration programs depending on need. Qualifications Education Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene (required) Experience 1–3 years of clinical dental hygiene experience (preferred) Recent graduates from accredited programs welcome to apply Licensure & Certifications Colorado Dental Hygienist License (DORA) – Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AHA) – Required Local Anesthesia Permit – Required Silver Diamine Fluoride and Interim Therapeutic Restorations certifications (preferred or must be obtained) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficient in full-scope dental hygiene care and diagnosis within Colorado’s practice act. Skilled in critical thinking and appropriate patient referral. Familiar with trauma-informed and LGBTQ affirming care. Competent in using motivational interviewing and effective health coaching techniques. Complies with continuing education and state board requirements.
