What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift position at 1017 York International Corp.?
What you will do: The maintenance technician will support production departments with preventative maintenance of the mechanical equipment to ensure it is predictable and is maintained to an excellent condition. The maintenance helper will also support the production departments with movements of large tonnage chillers for production. How you will do it: •Maintain spreaders bars and chains for moving production chillers. •Utilize large overhead cranes to move production chillers. •Utilize a forklift to move equipment. •Preventative maintenance of all plant equipment. •Assist the production departments with 5S projects. •Support maintenance technician with minor mechanical repairs to plant equipment •Use standard formats to audit the autonomous maintenance done by operators. •Give training to operators to improve the effectiveness of autonomous maintenance. •Ensure applicable activities that help achieve EHS & JCMS goals and metrics. •Participate in EHS & JCMS observations program. •Maintain security policy, health, and environment at work. •Participate in Training program. •Assist in defining corrective and preventive actions. •Control system logs in your area. •Intervene personally to identify and correct unsafe acts and recognize safe behavior •Identify and report potential environmental impacts •Report all injuries, almost accidents, unsafe acts / conditions and occupational health problems and take the necessary corrective measures, as well as support in the investigation. •Support and comply with all security practices, systems and rules established in the company. •Keep the areas clean and tidy, maintaining the 5S standards. •Properly use Personal Protective Equipment. •Review and participate in risk assessments ensuring the level of alertness in their areas when working with materials and chemicals.
