Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst – Franchisor
Location: Wilmington, NC – Hybrid

Position Summary
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis for the franchisor entity of a growing franchise organization. This role focuses on corporate-level financial performance, royalty revenue, marketing fund activity, and franchise support costs.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and comfortable working in a small, entrepreneurial environment. This role partners closely with leadership to translate financial data into clear insights that support strategic growth and strong franchisee economics.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the annual budget and periodic forecasts for the franchisor, including royalty revenue, franchise fees, and corporate operating expenses
· Prepare and analyze monthly financial results for the franchisor entity, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods
· Develop and maintain financial models related to franchise growth, royalty streams, marketing fund activity, and corporate profitability
· Build and maintain management reporting and KPIs such as unit count, same-store sales trends, royalties, franchise fees, marketing fund spend, and corporate margins
· Partner closely with accounting during month-end close to ensure accurate financial results, accruals, and alignment between actuals and forecasts
· Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring corporate spend in a lean environment
· Analyze franchise performance data to support leadership decisions related to franchisee health, pricing, marketing effectiveness, and support initiatives
· Support long-range planning, scenario analysis, and ad hoc requests related to new franchise development and system-wide growth
· Help streamline and improve reporting processes, financial models, and data integrity as the franchise system scales
· Document assumptions, methodologies, and recurring analyses to ensure consistency and transparency
Qualifications & Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
· 2–3 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, public accounting, or a similar analytical role
· Strong understanding of financial statements, accrual accounting, and forecasting concepts
· Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas); financial modeling experience required
· Ability to translate financial results into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and resource-lean environment
Preferred Experience
· Experience supporting a franchisor, multi-unit, retail, or service-based organization
· Familiarity with royalty revenue, franchise fees, and/or marketing fund reporting
· Exposure to budgeting and forecasting tools (e.g., Adaptive, Planful, Anaplan) or willingness to learn
· Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, Oracle)
· Experience building dashboards or reports in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
