Job Summary:


As a senior member of the Wellstar Brand and Marketing Team, the Director of Brand Strategy will own the Wellstar Master Brand and help create the experiences that inspire our customers, employees, and the communities we serve. Through engaging narratives, and innovative media formats you will help us continue to build our purpose-driven brand. This individual reports to the AVP, Brand and Marketing Strategy and partners with other teams across the Marketing Division.
The primary responsibilities of the Director of Brand Strategy include brand strategy development and leadership, consumer understanding and insights, brand health understanding and management of the Brand Strategy team.
Position is located in Marietta, GA, currently remote. This position will oversee up to (2) direct reports.


Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Brand Strategy
Wellstar Brand Positioning ensures brand positioning remains differentiated and delivering on consumer needs.
Brand Guidelines responsible for the further development and upkeep of the Wellstar Brand Guidelines including Visual Identity and Brand Architecture (Naming)
Multi-Year Brand Strategy - Develops strategic plans for brand advancement, including partnering to create both long-term plans and annual goals to improve on the brands ability to support Wellstar activities that help to fulfill the System vision and mission, underpinned by a deep understanding of consumer and marketplace insights
Brand Health Leads Brand KPI Definition, Tracking & Quarterly Reporting
Core Creative Idea Evolution and Execution partners with Brand AOR and Director of Integrated Marketing, in the development and execution of the Brands core creative idea.
Knowledge and Insights Capability
Leverages syndicated and proprietary data, along with access to experts and trendwatchers to develop deep understanding of macros forces affecting healthcare in general and Wellstar specifically.
Understands how to effectively plan and spend on custom research to improve the knowledge base for Wellstar
Has on-going understanding of Wellstar Brand Health against key factors that drive Patient (Consumer) Engagement
Educates the organization on biggest consumer, marketplace and competitive trends
Strategic Leadership
Brand Narrative Creates the Wellstar Brand narrative and increases the visibility, understanding and positive messaging of Wellstar in the marketplace and communities we serve
Leadership Management Educates the System on the Brand Architecture of Wellstar and how everyone is a critical part of the advancement of the Wellstar Brand.
Performance Partners to create executive leadership updates on the full range of insights, brand and marketing strategy issues that may arise in the operations of the business
Integration Drives system alignment to Wellstar Brand Positioning and Key Marketing Strategies
Team Management
Directly manages the Integrated Marketing Manager(s) assigned to his/her team
Coaches and develops talent, leads staffing recommendations, and expanded opportunities
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.


Required Minimum Education:


Bachelor's Degree in media/communications, business, marketing, or related field.


Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):


All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):


Required Minimum Experience:


Minimum 7 years experience working at a large consumer brand and/or an advertising agency in strategic planning/brand strategy role
Required
Agency or Consulting firm experience strongly preferred.
Healthcare or CPG industry exposure or background a plus.


Required Minimum Skills:


Knowledge of MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
Knowledge of a wide range of strategic tool set (data/analytics, profile and research)
Experience translating data into actionable marketing recommendations and presentations - proficiency in PowerPoint required
Proven experience leading integrated strategy for transformative, business-driving work
Exceptional ability to: Author strategic documents & briefs, distill research into actionable insights, and offer strategic points of view and unexpected jumping off points that lead to creative and business opportunities
Must have superior multi-tasking, networking, time management and inter-personal skills
Strong passion for problem solving and do-whatever-it-takes mentality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, naturally collaborative with the ability to work across different levels of seniority and business functions. Natural presenter, comfortable and convincing in client meetings at every level (managers to C-suite)
Operates independently and efciently to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and successfully, without sacricing quality
