The NPDP is a registered nurse (RN) with NPD practice judgement and expertise who influences professional role competence and growth of learners in a variety of settings with a desired outcome of improved population health. The term “practitioner” is used in this specialty only in conjunction with NPD as a title. (Maloney & Harper, 2021, p. 29) EDUCATION: · Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. · BSN required. · Master's degree in nursing education preferred. · Certification in clinical practice/specialty practice preferred. · Certification in clinical practice/specialty practice preferred. For Central NPDPs: BSN Required Nursing Professional Development Board Certification required or is currently eligible to sit for this certification. 2 years in a department-based (unit or clinic) nursing professional development practitioner role is strongly preferred. EXPERIENCE: · Experience as a clinical preceptor required. · 5 years of nursing experience required. · 5 years of nursing experience in the applicable clinical specialty strongly preferred.
