Job Summary
Responsible for a clean and sanitary environment for the well-being of residents, visitors and staff. Ensures the highest standards of housekeeping and sanitation are maintained at all times. Oversees all housekeeping services.
Job responsibilities
Maintains all common areas and hallways in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
Ensures all floors and floor coverings are clean and free from spills
Supervises the collection of all garbage and refuse, using disposal methods which ensure protection from rodents and insects.
Ensures compliance with and recommends appropriate policies and procedures for the Housekeeping Department.
Oversees cleanliness of resident apartments, public areas. offices and services areas.
Maintains cleaning supplies and ensures they are in clearly-labeled containers under safe and sanitary conditions, accessible only to personnel who use these products in the performance of the job duties.
Ensures cleaning carts and other equipment are clean and in good working condition. Arranges for necessary maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
Follows state, local and health department guidelines.
Directs, trains, disciplines and supervises departmental staff.
Maintains staffing requirements determines by the departmental budget.
Prepares employee performance appraisals and recommends wage adjustments.
Minimum Qualifications Preferred
Education and Experience.
High school graduate or GED. There years' experience in performing duties if housekeeper in a business facility setting: one-year supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of general housekeeping procedures, and the ability to train others to accurately operate equipment necessary to the function of the job duties including, but not limited to, floor cleaning equipment, laundry equipment, and other general housekeeping equipment and supplies necessary for the performance of job duties.
