We are seeking a full-time elementary and 4 middle school Special Education Teacher-Mild Intervention for the 2026–2027 school year for Mishawaka, IN. In this vital role, you will design and implement tailored instructional plans that meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and other learning disorders.
Responsibilities
- Develop individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state laws and tailored to each student’s unique needs, including modifications for curriculum and assessments.
- Implement evidence-based teaching strategies that incorporate behavioral therapy, communication skills development, literacy education, math instruction, and early childhood education principles.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Use educational technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate personalized learning experiences for students with disabilities.
Requirements
*Masters preferred
*Valid IN Special Education Teaching certification
*Minimum 1 year experience in a school setting
