We’re currently seeking a motivated, organized, and tech-savvy Part-Time Fleet Auto Mechanic to support the maintenance and performance of our fleet. This role reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical part in keeping our trucks safe, efficient, and road-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage preventative maintenance and vehicle repairs
- Oversee vehicle titles, registration, and insurance
- Coordinate refurbishments (including dump bodies) and vehicle retirement
- Monitor fleet operating expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Conduct cost analysis to determine repair vs. replacement decisions
- Provide driver safety training and coaching
- Guide teams on pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections
- Utilize third-party fleet management software to track performance and data
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
- Build and manage relationships with local repair shops and vendors
- Negotiate pricing with parts suppliers and service providers
- Support vendor partnerships (e.g., recyclers, transfer stations) to optimize costs
- Maintain and service primarily Isuzu NPR trucks
What You Bring
- 8–10 years of relevant mechanical or fleet management experience
- Strong knowledge of mid-sized commercial trucks and dump bodies
- Familiarity with commercial vehicle regulations
- Experience with diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance (welding is a plus)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Comfort using Google Suite and fleet management systems
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility with scheduling
