Calling those who want to inspire and mentor young people, hone their leadership skills in a supportive environment, and join a vibrant network of residents, organizations, and community leaders who are dedicated to strengthening communities!
Homewood Children’s Village (HCV) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Homewood’s children while simultaneously reweaving the fabric of the community in which they live. Through collaboration, engagement, advocacy, and research, we offer a continuum of direct services and learning support for children and their families, from cradle to career, working diligently to address the complex challenges facing Homewood’s youth.
HCV AmeriCorps Members contribute to this mission by providing academic support to K-8 students during the school day and connecting them with engaging activities after school. The presence of HCV AmeriCorps Members within schools, out-of-school-time programs, and in the community helps provide positive social reinforcement for students, further empowering them to learn effectively, act resourcefully, and tread confidently through life’s journeys.
