Position: B&GC Branch Manager
Location: PMC - Glen Burnie Boys & Girls Club
Position Type: full-time (40 hours/week), non-exempt
Pay Rate: $18.66 hourly
About this opportunity:
The Branch Manager directs and manages the overall daily operations of a branch/unit under the control of the organization with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision and training of staff (direct and indirect reports), personnel issues, management of a facility, manage a budget, actively engage and support a Unit Advisory Council, community relations, volunteers, and membership administration. This position also Represents the Boys & Girls Club in the community and builds a professional and positive image of The Salvation Army implementing program services that advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
Key responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
Supervisory Responsibilities (25%)

• Plans, coordinates and directs all youth activities and programs for the Boys & Girls Club; plans, directs, recruits, and supervises all program staff and volunteers; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; conducts performance evaluations & provides salary & hiring/firing recommendations.
• Plans, prepares, and administers the Departmental Budget; reviews, monitors and approves expenditures for the Department to ensure compliance with budget constraints.
• Direct supervisor of the Program Coordinator, oversees other Boys & Girls Club staff as needed.

BGC Strategic Planning and Evaluation Responsibilities (40%)

• Plans the strategy of and vision for all youth activities and programs which fulfill the goals and objectives of the Boys & Girls Club of America and The Salvation Army.
• Oversees the BGC Program Coordinator in the planning and coordination of activities and programs including the youth mentorship, youth tutoring, and summer day camp programs; may assist with program development; evaluates the effectiveness of each program and initiates and oversees any needed changes.
• Promotes participation in the Boys & Girls Club activities in order to encourage safety of the community youth.
• Researches additional grants and seeks additional funding avenues for the BGC; may assist with grant writing and grant reporting.
• Establishes and maintains a friendly and cooperative relationship with public and private social agencies and other organizations such as neighborhood schools and other non-profits and related organizations in the area.
• Develops and/or researches all applicable training opportunities; trains employees as needed.
• Promotes and stimulates an increase in Club membership by visiting school functions, parades and festivals in the neighborhood.

Program Implementation Responsibilities (35%)

• Serves as Transportation Director for in-city and out-of-state events; drives Salvation Army vehicle to transport youth to events when needed.
• Participates in the implementation of programs and activities as needed.
• Coordinates arrangements with outside groups desiring to rent the Community Center.
• Ensures the delivery of outcome driven programs that align with the developmental needs of all young people.
• Advertises and motivates participation in Youth of Year program and ensures youth participate fully by ensuring Youth of Year applications are submitted in a professional manner to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Helps to ensure a judging process that is fair and helpful to youth.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

What we are looking for in you:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social services AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the management, administration and operation of a Boys & Girls Club, with at least two (2) years in a leadership capacity; OR five (5) years of experience working in a similar youth-serving organization; OR any equivalent combination of education/experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:
Valid State Driver's License (CDL is preferred)
First Aid and C.P.R. Certification (or ability to obtain)
State Licensed Director's Credentials (preferred)
Tier 1 BGCA Certified Trainer (or ability to obtain)
