The Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Pediatric and Adolescent Psychologist for its Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery.

The Department of Psychiatry at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City is pleased to announce a full-time psychologist position at the pediatric and adolescent program of the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS). The pediatric and adolescent program is comprised of an interdisciplinary team including psychology, psychiatry, nursing, social work, endocrinology and fertility preservation specialists. We provide specialty consultations and care to youth and young adults up through age 22. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive consultations to transgender and gender diverse youth, young adults and their families. Often, the focus of these consultations is to help youth and families make decisions related to gender affirming medical care, including puberty suppression, gender-affirming hormone therapy and surgery. In addition, the psychologist will have the opportunity to provide brief, family-based interventions and group therapy for transgender and gender diverse youth. This position is an exciting opportunity to join a growing interdisciplinary team and has the potential to involve making significant contributions to program development.

The position includes faculty appointment commensurate with experience in the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Additional opportunities for faculty practice, teaching, and/or clinical research exist. Salary is competitive. Qualified candidates will be licensed psychologists in the state of New York. Bilingual, English & Spanish speaking applicants are desired.

There are opportunities to participate in QI projects, hospital committees and to engage in academic endeavors such as research and presentations as well as instruction and supervision of residents and psychologytrainees.

Position Qualifications:

* PhD or PsyD from APA accredited program

* APA accredited internship

* New York State Psychology License

* Experience preferred, but early career psychologists will also be considered

* Bilingual candidates are desired

* Strong teaching and leadership skills

* Excellent communication and organizational skills

* Must possess highly collaborative and proactive approach, and demonstrate commitment to high-quality, cost-effective health care

* A strong work ethic and desire to participate in and grow a team-oriented, performance-driven department

* Compensation range from 95K to 110K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
