What We Need
We have many incoming prospective clients! We need to keep these families in the know, organized, and updated, and we need to make sure they are showing up to their appointments ready and excited.
The Client Services Associate is, at its heart, a business development position. This person is informed and respectful of Minnesota bar rules of ethics and professionalism with special emphasis on the definition of “providing legal services.”
You see sales as a service we provide for our clients, and not as something to be done “to” them. You ensure that systems and materials created to prepare prospective clients are in fact reviewed by the prospective client as they are scheduled to meet with their new attorney. The Client Services Associate meets primarily by phone and will help the potential client to clarify their concerns, educate them about options provided by the firm (without giving advice), and make the best decision about moving forward so that potential clients can achieve their goals. Detailed notes are a requirement of every potential client before, during, and after the meeting.
The Associate facilitates a professional hand-off to the legal team once the client commits to moving forward, and is responsible for ushering the client through our process --- from the initial meeting until the completion of representation. The successful candidate should have success selling big-ticket products, including professional, consultative, or financial services, and embraces metrics, scorekeeping, transparency, and accountability. Clients are sometimes going through difficult times, and empathy is a must.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a requirement.
This position reports directly to the Client Services Director.
- Provide Support for the Client Services Director
- Manage own schedule to balance availability for meeting with prospective clients as well as following up with prospective clients who said “no” and with current clients to conduct quality control calls and interviews.

- Follow up with prospective clients who said “no.”
- Follow up with current clients and set milestones over the course of representation.
- Facilitate a professional introduction between the prospective client and the legal team.
- Actively engage with management about the quality and outcome of calls, offering constructive feedback regarding and suggestions for improvement of our processes
- Use a consultative approach when conducting calls to illustrate the value and benefits of our services
- Stay current with ethics rules of Minnesota and the legal industry generally
- Contribute to networking efforts through outreach to referral sources
- Assist the Client Services Director with client event planning
- You can pick up the phone and talk to anyone, anywhere!
- A strong interest in consultative sales
- Proven track record for using a consultative sales approach
