Custodial Assistant

Status : Non Exempt Reports to : Facilities Manager

Part Time X Full Time Hours per week : 0-15

Positions Supervised : None

Primary Function :

To help facilitate parish events and special projects through set-up and tear down of tables / chairs and general clean-up and removal of garbage and vacuuming.

Working with other parish personnel to complete larger jobs that need more attention or outside assistance. Hours are based on the needs of parish each week and are scheduled up to a month in advance.

Major Areas of Responsibility :

• Set-up / tear-down of tables and chairs or other necessary for events
• Removing garbage and vacuuming after events.
• Spot checking restrooms and other areas for any needed attention.
• Moving furniture and other items for special projects, renovations, or construction as necessary.

• Set up for events as directed by supervisor,
• Ensure that bathrooms are clean and have sufficient supplies before events.
• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping areas after events.
• Spot checking restrooms and other areas as needed after events.
• Empty all trash cans in all areas used for event and take trash to dumpster.
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications :

Must be physically able to lift (up to 50lbs), bend, stoop, climb and reach. Must be self-motivated with attention to detail.

Work as part of a team. Ability to operate minor equipment used in cleaning / maintaining facility.
