Grand Traverse Construction is a commercial General Contractor based in Traverse City, MI. As a company we self-perform concrete and carpentry installations, which include architectural demolition, metal building construction, and specialty installations and accessories.

We are seeking Site Superintendents with an extensive background in all aspects of commercial and industrial construction. The candidate shall have the ability to lead and collaborate with a diverse team of subcontracted trade contractors and trade workers. Candidates for this position will have an expectation of safe worksite practices, quality assurances for all installations, and professional conduct. Pay Range: $30.00 -$42.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications & Skills

• Five plus years of experience in construction, or three years in a construction supervisor role.
• Ability to communicate clearly and proactively with production team, project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Computer proficiency in AutoDesk, ProCore, and email communication.
• Capacity to effectively manage and maintain a project schedule.
• Mandatory comprehension of complete project document set, civil, architectural design, structural and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering drawings and details.
• Understanding of Specifications, and submittal review, installation compliance confirmation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage a team of subcontractors, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation.
• Ensure a SAFE worksite; Reporting, record keeping as required by MiOSHA.
• Schedule all project inspections, and compliance matters with regulatory agency.
• Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
• Maintain a daily report for the job site’s operations, reporting to project manager.
• Participate in progress meeting with owner, architect, and project manager, with the ability to speak to the onsite challenges and progress.
• Maintain site security and manage job site working hours.
