Job description
We are now hiring a Recreational professional to be part of our rapidly growing team! The qualified candidate will employ leisure activities to help patients with disabilities or illnesses. Through the use of exercise, sports, crafts and more, the therapeutic professional will assist in maintaining patients' physical and emotional well-being.
Essential Functions:
- Assess patients' needs through observations, medical records, tests, and talking with other healthcare professionals, patients families, and patients
- Implement different leisure programs to target health domains including arts and crafts, music, exercise, sports, etc.
- Create treatment plans and programs that meet patients needs and interests
- Plan and implement interventions to prevent harm to a patient
- Help patients learn the social skills needed to become or remain independent
- Teach patients about ways to cope with anxiety or depression
- Record and analyze a patients progress
- Evaluate interventions for effectiveness
- Provide educational counseling through leisure based curriculum
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or related is preferred.
- Behavioral health experience
- Minimum of 6 months experience or internship 1 experience
