🐠 Join Our Team as an Aquarist at SEA LIFE New Jersey! 🌊

Job Purpose 🌟The Aquarist role works closely with the Lead Aquarist to deliver industry-leading, engaging, and impactful displays, ensuring high standards of animal welfare and guest interaction at SEA LIFE. Collaborate with the Curator, displays team, and other departments to achieve excellence.

Essential Job Functions 🐟

• Adopt a passionate approach to guest service, maximizing engagement with our fascinating creatures 🤩
• Deliver world-class aquatic and terrestrial displays by actively engaging with team members, managers, and guests 🌍
• Follow animal care protocols, including dietary needs, food preparation, and storage 🥬
• Safely handle and transport animals under guidance 🦑
• Understand animal welfare principles, behavior, and enrichment 📚
• Perform basic water chemistry analysis and maintain aquatic environments 🌊
• Ensure biocontainment and maintain tank theming for a memorable guest experience 🌊🏞️
• Perform health monitoring, parasite checks, and basic veterinary procedures 🩺
• Maintain and operate life support systems and equipment 🛠️
• Ensure health, safety, and security protocols are followed for team members, guests, and animals 🚧

Other Responsibilities 🌟

• Educate team members about creatures and problem-solve daily issues 🎓
• Uphold Merlin Values and support ethical animal sourcing and conservation efforts 🌿

Health & Safety ⚠️

• Adhere to Health, Safety & Security measures per company policy (HS001) 🛡️
• Promptly report incidents and contribute to a safe work environment 🚨

Education and Experience 📚

• B.A/B.S. degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Marine Biology, Zoology, Psychology) or equivalent certification preferred 🎓
• 1-2 years’ experience in related fields desirable 🌊

Work Environment 🏞️

• Varied locations within and outside the Attraction, including underwater environments 🌊
• Flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional travel 🕒
