School Zone Publishing Company is a family-owned publisher of elementary education products, including workbooks, flash cards, educational games and puzzles, and software. Aimed at children from preschool level to sixth grade, the products offer instruction in math, spelling, and reading, as well as science and social studies. The company sells its wares through its own Web site and mail-order catalog; some products are also sold through bookstores and mass merchandisers. James and Joan Hoffman started the company as The School Zone Learning Center, a retail teachers' supply outlet, in 1972.
