What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Representative position at Robert Half?
A well-established, nonprofit healthcare organization in California is in search of a Patient Care Representative for a Family Medicine clinic in Santa Monica. Apart of a big team of 16 other Patient Care Representatives, the responsibilities of this position float between the Front Desk and Phones, on a rotation.
While at the Front Desk, the Patient Care Representative will greet and check in patients as well as check out patients after their appointment. Additionally, they will schedule follow up appointments. The practice uses the electronic medical records (EMR) system EPIC for all scheduling.
While working in the back office, the Patient Care Representative will be working with patients over the phone. They will answer incoming calls, verify health benefits (PPO, HMO, Medicare and MediCal insurances), collect patient demographic information, and schedule appointments.
While performing either function, the Patient Care Representative will respond to inbox communication from both providers and patients. Additionally, create appointment reminders for patients and print faxes.

This position is Monday - Friday from 8 - 5 pm during the training period, with flexibility to work 8:30 - 5:30 or 8:45 - 5:45 pm if preferred. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K and tuition reimbursement.
