We are in search of an adept Data Engineer to join our team in the Energy/Natural Resources industry based in The Woodlands, Texas. In this role, you will be involved in constructing and managing large-scale databases and data systems, ensuring the quality and accessibility of data, and collaborating with data scientists on several projects. Responsibilities
- Design and manage large-scale databases and data systems, integrating new and existing software such as MS Fabric, Databricks
- Develop architectures to improve the quality and accessibility of data and implement methods for data collection and mining from different sources.
- Collaborate with data scientists and architects on several projects and translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed designs.
- Design fault tolerance into the data systems to ensure continual data consistency and validity.
- Stay informed on the latest data trends and advancements and troubleshoot any data-related issues.
- Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
- Create clear, functional, and technical documentation for all data systems and procedures.
- Utilize skills in Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Cloud Technologies, Database, EO/IR systems, Algorithm Implementation, Analytics, Apache Hadoop, API Development, and AWS Technologies.
- Actively participate in the resolution of any data-related issues and develop solutions.
- Proficiency in MS Fabric, databricks and Azure Data pipelines
- Knowledge and experience with Cloud Technologies and Database management
- Familiarity with EO/IR systems
- Ability to implement and optimize algorithms
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data
- Experience with Apache Hadoop
- Proficiency in API Development
- Experience with AWS Technologies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL techniques.
