CPG Architects And Planners Inc is Hiring a Senior Project Architect Near Stamford, CT

JOB SUMMARY:The Senior Project Architect takes the vision of the design team and leads the production team to create a biddable, buildable, code-compliant set of construction documents.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by architect.• Monitor and oversee the construction documentation process including reviewing and approving shop drawings.• Analyze building codes, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.• Meet with external contacts including clients, contractors, and engineers to identify and resolve problems.• Meet with internal contacts including designers, production staff, project managers and architect of record to clarify design intent and streamline documentation process.• Perform site visits at the construction site to confirm compliance with construction documents.• Review and comment on applications for payment and change order requests.• Perform code analysis and develop code strategies.• Mark up and review shop drawings.• Perform other related duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in architecture; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.• 10 or more years of experience in Architecture required.• Registered Architect License required.• NCARB Certification preferred.• AIA membership preferred.• LEED AP BD C accreditation preferred.
CORE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.• Knowledge of office standards and building codes.• General knowledge of construction.• Project management and organizational skills.• Good judgement and decision-making skills.• Problem solving skills with ability to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions to complex problems.• Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to lead teams and interact with clients.
PHYSICAL FACTORS:• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.• Construction site visits occur frequently and may require walking on uneven, rough terrain at times.
WORKING REQUIREMENTS (Travel Requirements, Overtime, Shifts, On-Call, etc.):• This position may require work outside of typical working hours in order to respond to/address any issues that arise.• Minimal travel to job sites and client meetings is required.
