We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal to become a part of our team! You will provide overall support to attorneys' business needs. The right candidate should be able to communicate effectively and possess strong client service instincts. We are looking for someone with a professional demeanor, excellent organization, keen attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload

All Applicants Must Possess A Paralegal Certificate .

Full Responsibilities Include:

1. Handle a docket of cases and work well in a multi-tasking environment.

2. Review and follow the detailed Case Management Plan from the attorney for every client.

3. Send out letter of representation to insurance companies, health care providers, Medicare and Medicaid, etc.

4. Order and obtain medical records & bills.

5. Communicate with medical providers, insurance representatives and others in support of our clients and the firm.

6. Identify key medical records on a regular basis. (PI cases only)

7. Order and obtain Police Reports.

8. Obtain complete property damage information and photographs if missing.

9. Maintain and organize files with particular emphasis on the organization of medical records and bills and litigation files.

10. Review all Court Orders and enter all deadlines for filings if needed and prepare Deadline Summary Sheet.

11. Get to know your client through consistent verbal and written communications. You are the primary contact for the client but the Attorneys will be part of that as well.

12. Communicate with front desk regarding reserving conference rooms.

13. Keep your client up to date – they want to know what is going on and should be kept up to date. (PI cases only)

14. Draft Lien Letters.

15. Develop positive, honest, cooperative working relationships with third parties, insurance representatives and opposing law offices.

16. Prepare Initial and Expert Disclosures for review.

17. Prepare NRCP 16.1 Disclosures and Supplements thereto.

18. Prepare Initial Appearance Fee Disclosure (IAFD) and NRCP 7.1 Disclosure Statement.

19. Assist with drafting and responding to discovery and coordinate in the preparation of and responding to written discovery including document production.

20. Proactively prepare matters for Final Distribution by tracking all the costs related to the matter in Timeslips (i.e. filing fees, copying fees, runner fees, certified mail, FedEx, and all other vendor expenses), and obtaining balance confirmations.

21. Assist in Trial preparation. Compile trial exhibits, create trial exhibit lists and prepare trial binders.

22. Monitor medical payments coverage to maximize the benefit for the client.

23. Prepare Deposition Notices, Subpoenas, Subpoena Duces Tecum, Notice of Entry of Orders.

24. Negotiate reductions in medical bills and liens.

25. Develop impairment damages for your client.

26. Learn about medicine and medical diagnostics and procedures.

27. Contact Insurance Companies to set up claims.

28. Order, obtain and routinely follow up on medical records and bills.

29. Obtain Policy Information.

30. Verify medical bills and balances.

31. Create shell documents for various pleadings needed by attorneys.

32. Build relationships with key staff in client offices, including periodically traveling to client sites.

33. Arrange for service of pleadings and subpoenas.

34. Overflow to Legal Assistants when necessary to achieve and complete task(s) with deadlines.

35. Travel to the Courthouse to deliver documents and/or items to the Attorneys, pick up and/or drop off checks to and from clients, and pick-up client files and file materials.

36. Back-up calendaring.

37. Handle and maintain all Secretary of State/Resident Agent documents.

38. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

39. Excel in a paperless environment.

40. Document all of your work in the system (K:drive).

41. Receive ongoing case development training.
