Job Description:

The Office of Business Services at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Business Services Associate. The Associate will be responsible for functions related to contracts (creation, review, maintenance), Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, and other major procurement agreements. The position will assist in supporting the University's participation with the state's required Minority and Women Owned and Service-Disabled Owned Businesses programs. The Associate will support the review and revisions of clinical affiliations, consulting service agreements, lease agreements, revenue contracts and other legal documents. The position will collaborate with cross functional teams through effective communication, lead training for the University community regarding procurement processes as well as perform ongoing efforts to streamline processes and create efficiencies.

Responsibilities and areas of focus include:

* Review University procurement and business agreement documents, interpreting and applying complex procurement regulations and requirements, working with SUNY System procurement and legal staff to progress and execute University procurements and business agreements.

* Gather and analyze procurement-related data for use in decision-making.

* Keep current with all regulatory and governmental requirements related to NYS and SUNY procurement.

* Conduct procurement solicitations from initial request to final contract approval, including Request for Proposals, Request for Quotes, Invitation for Bids, and other formal procurements.

* Work proactively, lead and collaborate with university departments to ensure their understanding of NYS and SUNY Policies and Procedures as they relate to procurement & contracts.

* Evaluate business services area processes, policies, and technology to identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, simplify, and automate and design new or improved business processes as needed.

* Act as the University liaison for affiliation agreements for internship placements.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree

* 4 years of financial or business experience

* 4 years of experience working in mid-volume customer service

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Skilled in MS Office products including Excel & SharePoint (or other similar cloud-based technology)

* Presentation and/or training skills

Preferred:

* Demonstrated organizational skills including preparing correspondence and other written materials

* Familiarity with legal terms and procurement/contract language

* Experience working with State and Federal Regulations, including public procurement laws

* Experience working with and serving diverse populations

* Higher education experience
