We are currently looking to hire an experienced Superintendent with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to join our team of builders & craftsman. This is an exempt full-time position.

Position Summary:

The Superintendent’s primary responsibility is to collaborate with the Project Manager on daily site operations and activities. This position is fully responsible and accountable for all site activities. Responsible for supervising the field construction of the project and to complete the project safely, on schedule, within the budget and in accordance Fairweather & Associates standards of excellence. The Superintendent needs to be comfortable in communicating with the F&A internal team, clients, consultants, municipal inspectors, subcontractors and vendors. The Superintendent must also be well versed in email, project management software, MS Office Suite, and have a working knowledge of CMP construction scheduling.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Leads the safety program on the site by practicing and implementing Company safety protocols.
  • Conduct safety site meetings and proactively enforce safety practices to minimize incidents.
  • Providing job site leadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships of the on-site staff, promoting a positive project morale.
  • Preparing project schedules and communicating to all parties the sequence of performing their scope of work.
  • Working closely with Project Manager to ensure smooth on-time completion.
  • Identifying costs savings and value engineering opportunities.
  • Coordinate, schedule, monitor and inspect the activities of subcontractors, vendors, materials orders, and deliveries to keep the Project Manager apprised.
  • Prepare and provide clear and complete tasks plans & instructions to crew foremen and general labor prior to their arrival at site.
  • Ensure quality workmanship and installation in accordance with project plans and expectations.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ability to build and maintain a contract path schedule.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification / 30 Hour OSHA Training (preferred but will train).
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints at an advanced level.
  • Ability to perform layout and instruct workers on cutting/assembly skills efficiently and accurately for all carpentry tasks.
  • Safe and skillful use of specialized power tools, ability to instruct others in their safe use.
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical trades- HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, AV and advanced knowledge of non-mechanical trades- waterproofing, roofing, tile, drywall, painting, and cabinetry fabrication and installation.
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of the budget, construction documents, subcontracts, and specifications.
  • Highly organized, results-driven, and a team player.
  • Proven background with employee/management relationships.
