Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer with database experience to join our team in the Hanover, MD . The position is part of a team that provides systems engineering, software development, configuration management and application testing support for a Weapons and Space software development effort.
Database Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing SQL database and application server development and administration
- Performing database and software life-cycle activities ensuring highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements
- Maintaining the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases.
- Provide support for disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
- Administering, maintaining, developing, and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database.
- Evaluating and recommending available database management system (DBMS) products.
- Organizing and formatting data for efficient query and storage processes
- Communicating with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 20 years of experience or 25 years of total experience with absence of a degree
- Experience with:
- Developing system design solution that satisfies the system requirements and fulfills functional analysis
- Performing Requirements Analysis: Inclusive of managing system requirements; Deriving follow-on requirements and requirements from understanding of stakeholder needs;
- Participating in establishing and gaining approval of the definition of a system or component under development (requirements, designs, interfaces, test procedures, etc.)
- The development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Coordinating and executing the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews
- Develop Security Mechanism Technology to ensure the fortitude of system vulnerabilities.
- Participating in an integrated Product Team to design new capabilities
- Allocating real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components
- Generating alternative and innovative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions
- Defining the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS
- Knowledgeable of Service Oriented Architecture
- Knowledgeable of AWS System Development
- Experience with tuning database performance
- Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Current and active TS/SCI with polygraph based upon a SSBI
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
