Description As the Executive Pastry Chef, a typical day might include the following:
Operating and managing the Big Night Entertainment Group pastry department alongside corporate executive chef, venue executive chefs and management
Developing and creating dessert menus for each restaurant location, as well as menu offerings for private events
Preparing a variety of baked goods and dessert dishes in accordance with company recipes, cooking methods and portion sizes
Monitoring and facilitating the ordering of ingredients, supplies and equipment
Setting plating and display standards, decorating pastries and dishes in a consistent and aesthetically pleasing style
Meeting with clients and sales and event management in regards to custom-made dessert orders or special requests
Ensuring quality and safety of food by monitoring team in regards to all health, safety and organizational standards
Interviewing, hiring, training and developing pastry employees; planning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Other duties as assigned
Requirements This job might be for you if you demonstrate the following abilities and meet the following qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant and/or bakery
Culinary certification or apprenticeship with a concentration in pastry is a plus
Food Safety Certification a plus and will be a requirement if selected for the position
