Senior Accountant will exhibit a strong knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and apply these principles in all aspects of your work. To help achieve our mission, you must have significant eperience in the processing of accounting transactions, reports and reconciliations. Being well versed in internal control systems and actively ensureing their effectiveness will aide youin your daily responsibilites.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to prepare cash and accrual accounting from data to financial stements
- Reconciliation of assigned accounts in a timely and accurate manner
- Accurate preparation of year-end journal entries.
- Help with organization's audit
- Prepare international and domestic payroll.
- Help complete Form 990's for the organization.
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
- Act as a backup for accounts payable.
- Supports month-end and year end closing
- Generates reports of financial status information
- Carries out other functions as assigned by the Director of Finance
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited University, current CPA preferred or currently seeking a CPA license
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive financial experience, preferably including experience with a not-for-profit organization
- Must possess sharp analytical skills, effective communication skills includig the ability to effectiely pr esent information
- Proficiency with Microsoft office: expert-level proficiency with excel
- Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
- Must have the ability to communicate in English both verbally and written, be technically competent, self-motivated, and reliable
