Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Simulation Technician to join our healthcare simulation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating medical simulation equipment, ensuring seamless computer networking and connectivity, and assisting in the training of medical professionals using simulation technology. The Medical Simulation Technician will play a crucial role in creating realistic and effective training scenarios that enhance healthcare professionals' skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

Minimum Education :

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare technology, computer science, biomedical engineering, Theater, Video Production) or equivalent experience.

Minimum work experience:

At least one year of experience in medical simulation or relevant field (e.g., healthcare technology, computer science, Video Production, Theater and the Arts)

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in basic computer networking, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to learn the operation and maintenance of various software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare educators and other team members.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to set up and maintain simulation environments accurately.
  • Problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and issues that may arise during training sessions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and adapt to changing training needs.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate medical simulation equipment, including manikins, task trainers, and audio-visual systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare educators to design, develop, and implement simulation scenarios that align with training objectives.
  • Ensure reliable computer networking and connectivity for simulation equipment, audio-visual systems, and debriefing technologies.
  • Set up and prepare simulation environments, ensuring all equipment and software are properly functioning before training sessions.
  • Assist in the integration of various technologies, such as virtual reality and augmented reality, into simulation-based training.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of simulation equipment to ensure optimal functionality and realism.
  • Provide technical support during training sessions, including troubleshooting issues that may arise during simulations.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of simulation supplies, ensuring that necessary materials are readily available for each session.
  • Maintain Inventory database including updating equipment knowledgebase.
  • This position is for a non-teaching role with the employee responsible for operating solely within the scope of providing administrative support in the IPE Simulation center.
  • Is a strong contributor to all appropriate teams, exhibiting Christian collegiality in team relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in medical simulation, healthcare education, or a related field is a plus
