Kelly Wearstler is seeking a motivated and passionate Textile Intern to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of luxury interior design, particularly focusing on textiles. As a Textile Intern, you will work closely with our experienced designers and Head of Textile Design to learn the intricacies of selecting, sourcing and integrating textiles into our interior projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in researching and sourcing high-quality textiles from a variety of suppliers, both local and international
• Collaborate with the design team to develop concepts and vibe trays that incorporate textiles into interior design schemes
• Support in the coordination of fabric samples, including organizing swatch libraries and maintaining sample inventory
• Attend client meetings and presentations to gain insight into client preferences and project requirements
• Assist in the creation of textile specifications and documentation for use in project planning and execution
• Gain hands-on experience in textile handling and care, including fabric testing and maintenance procedures
• Contribute to the development of marketing materials and presentations showcasing textile selections and design concepts

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or a recent graduate from a textile design or related degree program
• Demonstrable creative proficiency showcased through a portfolio
• Up-to-date knowledge of contemporary design trends and color theory
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop
• Weaving experience at any level
• Understanding of surface, print design and repeat
• Admin support: pulling samples from PDC, mailing packages, note taking etc.
