The Kansas City, Kansas Public Library is composed of five branches plus the Support Services Center. The library is governed by the Board of Education of Unified School District #500. As a public library, KCKPL recognizes that the library serves all residents of Wyandotte County, no matter age or economic conditions. This service area comprises a large and diverse population that is challenged by high levels of poverty and poor economic conditions.
