Job Purpose

Supports the New Product Introduction process by ensuring that all new products are fit for purpose and have a defined high quality manufacturing process as part of the project. Assists in troubleshooting issues and will use root cause analysis to identify and resolve manufacturing process failures.

Key Accountabilities

* As part of the Research and Development team, holds collective responsibility for the successful delivery of new products from development to commercialization. Will Interface with all functions such as Marketing, Integrated Supply Chain, and Sales on the industrialization of new products, raw materials, packaging and recipe changes ensuring that changes on site are controlled and managed.

* Develops process standardization (where applicable) and contributes to reducing variability on processes. Will use accepted techniques including Design of Experiments, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Statistical Process Control, and others as required.

* Promotes the quality system by adhering to organizational philosophy, quality statement, quality manual, and procedures.

* Executes process studies, contributes to pre-projects and performs initial project scoping and business case development for capital projects. Will submit to the project group for execution.

* Provides expertise for the onsite operations group to troubleshoot process-related issues. Will also work with Production Operators and Quality Technicians.

* Supervises and coaches junior team members.

Job Requirements

* Education and Experience must include one of the following:

* Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field and 10 years relevant experience in a coatings or chemical manufacturing environment.

* Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field and 3-6 years relevant experience in a coatings or chemical manufacturing environment.

* Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field and 2-4 years relevant experience in a coatings or chemical manufacturing environment.

* Ability to interpret data and develop insights based on knowledge of chemical structures and reactivity, process/manufacturing data propose, and test hypotheses. Must be able to summarize, organize and present data in graphical and tabular formats.

* Maintain a safe and clear work environment in accordance with company safety rules to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

* Effective organizational and time management skills. Must be able to manage projects simultaneously,

* Proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience with Microsoft Project required.

* Prior supervisory skills and experience.

* Must be fluent in English.

Total Compensation

The compensation package for this position will include a base salary, annual bonus, and employee benefits that are effective the first day of employment.
