Non ExemptNATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITIONThe Warehouse Assistant will be working with the Warehouse Team to ensure that the highest safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work as part of a team, have attention to detail and be diligent to maintain compliance with procedures.The Warehouse Assistant will work in the main warehouse under the Warehouse Manager to address all shipping and logistics needs. Their primary responsibility will be to stack pallets, organize the warehouse, print boxes, and assist with putting together product orders. This person will be flexible, and willing to help where assigned within the warehouse. Working hours are from 2pm-10pm Monday through Friday.Requirements:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKSStack boxes onto pallets and wrap pallets when completeAssist with the organization and arrangement of the warehouse as directed by supervisorsAssist with putting together product orders with the direction of the warehouse manager and assist in large order fulfillment effortsAssist with loading and unloading shipments onto and off of trucksComplete paperwork for traceability using a warehouse management systemAssist with weekly and monthly inventoryAssist in verifying paperwork accuracy and completeness prior to shippingParticipate in weekly meetings with the Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and Fulfillment Supervisor to review objectives and prioritiesWork as part of a team to improve efficiency and quality in the warehouse and in shipping and receivingAt times may need to print boxes using the box printer and ensure accuracyMaintain clean and organized work areasFollow all SQF practices and applicable regulatory requirements as trained and directed by managementParticipate in repacking activities as needed and directedOther tasks as assigned by supervisorREQUIRED SKILL, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIESTalking to others to convey information effectively.Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Actively looking for ways to help people.Juggling multiple responsibilities, being on time, meeting deadlines and sticking to schedules.Maintaining and organizing records in compliance with the applicable regulationsMust be able to read and write in EnglishREQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEAttention to detail is a must.Strong and effective communication skills – written & oral.Strong organizational and problem solving skills.English or Spanish speaking, bilinguality a plus.Experience working in a warehouse and/or fulfillment center required, preferably with food products preferred.Ability to read and understand English for use of required machinery.Experience with Wherefour Warehouse Management System a plus.WORKING CONDITIONSSchedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm with the possibility of overtime on weekdays and weekends.Prolonged standing for extended periods up to 8 hours and squatting and bending repeatedlyLifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 60 poundsWorking with one or both hands extended overheadBENEFITSBenefits for full time employees include partial employer funded medical, dental, vision, employer funded life insurance, 401k with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, and commuter benefits.ABOUT USWe are an inclusive food company that creates better food for our bodies, our communities and our amazing planet.
