Small consulting firm in South Windsor CT has an opening for a Senior Safety Consulting position. As a consulting firm, we work with a variety of industries throughout CT and MA including manufacturing, construction, and the municipal sector. Our safety consultants work with clients to assess their safety compliance needs, identify hazards, and then work with them to develop safety programs, inspection needs, and training requirements. Our consultants develop machine specific procedures, emergency postings, job hazard assessments and more, and are very hands-on in the client compliance process. Our consultants are expected to meet with our clients for development purposes, but also meet with client employees for training.

This position requires an experienced safety professional, one who can present clearly to client administration and also be well-received by employees in safety training. Additional qualifications are:

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Safety, Occupational Health, or related degree

• 5 years relevant experience

• Ability to travel within CT and MA

• Up to 50-80% travel

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to communicate effectively

· Ability to work independently and as team member

Desired

· CSP, Authorized Outreach OSHA Trainer, Train the Trainer designations, and any other certification for training

Job Responsibilities

·  Assess workplace and practice for compliance with OSHA safety standards.

·  Develop safety programs , protocol, job hazard assessments and safety postings.

· Perform safety audits and reports.

· Create machine-specific procedures, confined space assessments and other safety documentation.

· Perform general safety inspections on site .

· Work with clients to determine safety training needs and schedules; help maintain.

· Perform fit tests, if qualified.

· Conduct safety training for client employees .

· Work closely with support staff in our home office to effectively manage client.

· Be a team player.

· Work with high standards and strong ethics.

Work is combination of on site at clients in CT and MA, in home office in South Windsor, and some options for remote.

Our pay range is wide, as it is dependent on the designations and qualifications of the candidate. $65,000- $88,000 base, with opportunities for bonuses.
