POSITION: VICE PRINCIPAL - ELEMENTARY
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Master's Degree
  • Appropriate Massachusetts License
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in education, including equivalent experience at the appropriate license level.
JOB DESCRIPTION : Serve as a member of a collaborative leadership structure within an elementary educational environment. Provide leadership for supervision and support of teachers and students. Promote a positive school culture through academic and extra-curricular activities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage student information database system and generate reports as needed.
  • Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school.
  • Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases as necessary for the class assigned to his/her responsibility.
  • Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions.
  • Works with the principal and faculty groups in compiling annual budget requests.
  • Works with the principal in the preparation of student and staff schedules, course of studies, etc.
  • Promotes and participates in extracurricular activities.
  • Serves with parent, faculty, and student group as requested in advancing educational activities and objectives.
  • Participates in the assessment of and changes in the school curriculum.
  • Participates in the requisitioning of educational textbooks, supplies, and equipment needed for the orderly operation of the high school, including conducting inventories, maintaining records, and checking on receipts for such material.
  • Formally, may be asked to observe and/or evaluate school staff.
  • Prepares reports on a periodic basis, or as required, as directed by Principal.
  • Willingness and ability to serve as acting Principal, in the absence of same.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time.
  • Any other duties as defined by the Principal.
The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.
Reports to : Principal
Supervises : Assignments determined by the Principal.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Fall River Administrators Association Contract. Employment is contingent on job performance, program needs, and funding. 2023-2024 Salary Range, $87,051 to $124,440 .
