JOB SUMMARY :

The Internal Audit Specialist I works closely with the Internal Audit leadership and staff auditors, the Internal Audit Specialist will perform a variety of tasks to help the audit team evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the Bank’s internal controls, policies, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES):

· Coordinates and facilitates the completion of FDICIA controls testing inclusive of management of the FDICIA Risk and Control Matrix (RACM), quarterly control certification, control process validation via walkthroughs, control testing as approved by the External Auditor, portal management, and year-end control validations.

· Maintains Internal Audit’s issues inclusive of entry to the Issue Management platform upon completion of audits, routine review of open issues pending remediation, follow-up with staff auditors and issue owners for past due issues, review of evidence in support of issue remediation, back testing (where appropriate), and preparation of a consolidated report for delivery to the Audit Committee. 

· Works with third-party audit co-sourcing partners to prepare and distribute audit communications, coordinate, and facilitate meetings as necessary, coordinate the collection and review of testing support documentation and audit deliverables. 

· Works with the VP, Internal Audit to prepare Audit Committee records for quarterly presentation.

· Supports staff auditors as needed to ensure completion of scheduled audits inclusive of researching internal and external guidance, assisting in the tracking and collection of document requests, and control testing.

· Identifies and documents any errors, discrepancies, fraud, or risks in the audit evidence and report them to the staff auditors or VP, Internal Audit.

· Exercises awareness with regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department. Performs all job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules

· Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Equivalent Education/Experience

· Basic knowledge of Internal Audit. 

· Strong communication skills. 

· Good critical-thinking skills to gather all the available data and make informed decisions. 

· Excellent research skills to find all related information needed. 

· Proficient in Microsoft Office.

· High School Diploma required.

· 0-2 years of experience in Mortgage and/or Banking (preferred).

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:

Work requires the ability to deal with highly sensitive/confidential/privileged information and matters. Travel may be required (5-10%) within the states of Oklahoma and Texas.
