**Community Shelter/Operations - Austin, TX - Full Time**

* We need you to fill the role of Community Shelter Basic Needs & Food Services Coordinator. This is a full time, non-exempt position. We will pay you an hourly rate of $18.50 - $19.50/hour. This position will have some flexibility to build a regular schedule that works 40 hours between 7:30a 7:30p Monday - Friday, but this position will be required to work until 7:30p on two weeknights once a walk-up pantry opens at the permanent location. **This position will provide mobile services and will require the use of a personal vehicle and/or the ability to drive a cargo van.**

* **Currently**: Position is based primarily at SAFEs Grove Blvd campus and frequently travels to several temporary Community Shelter locations in East Austin.

* **Later This Year:** A permanent Community Shelter campus will open in East Austin. Once open, this position will split time between Grove Blvd campus and Community Shelter campus, frequently traveling between the two campuses to pick up food donations and purchases.

* Collect, manage, record and distribute Community Shelter residents requests for basic needs and food services in a timely manner.

* Build rapport with residents, working in collaboration with other program staff regarding Shelter needs and essential items for residents.

* Receive, transport, stock, and organize food and basic needs donations on a daily basis.

* Clean and maintain Community Shelter Pantry to make sure adherence to the Travis County/City of Austin Health Management and the Central Texas Food Bank Compliance and Inspection Policies.

* Receive vendor deliveries and communicate effectively with other coordinators about inventory for the Community Shelter Pantry.

* Collect and report data to appropriate individuals.

* Orient, train, schedule, and provide supervision to volunteers.

* Will serve as backup for other In-Kind & Warehouse Teammates when they are out of office.

* High school diploma or equivalent education and experience

* Preference given to experience in a residential, crisis, and/or homeless or domestic violence shelter program.

* Knowledge of issues and systems related to domestic & sexual violence; sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking; child abuse; and homelessness.

* Preference given to experience working with food donations and distribution.

* Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers or Food Managers license within 30 days of employment.

* Experience establishing rapport, trust and boundaries with people from diverse backgrounds.

* Experience and skilled in or willing to learn data entry/collection using online database to track program outputs/outcomes and in the use of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets.

* Experience working in a high stress, fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

* Sensitive to various ethnic, social and cultural backgrounds.

* Impeccable integrity and judgment; ability to both inspire trust and be trustworthy.

* Demonstrates conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change

* Frequent bending, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and walking.

* Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling.

* Frequent repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

* Heavy work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force regularly, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects like milk crates, frozen foods, canned food, etc.

* This position will frequently stock and organize walk-in fridge and freezer.

* Must have a valid Texas drivers license and provide Department of Public Safety proof of driving record acceptable to agency insurers for the past three years.

* Must pass agencys driving test, and have the ability to drive large cargo vans.

* Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in and understand English through written or spoken format.

* Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check), as well a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
